Waiting for an app to get launched can be a pain sometimes, especially when a user isn’t exactly sure when it will launch.

That will change for some apps, though, as Google has rolled out a new way for developers to keep attention on their upcoming apps. According to a report published recently by Droid-Life, some developers and publishers can open up pre-registration for an app, of which users can sign up to get notified when the app becomes available to buy and install on their Android-based device.

According to the report, the feature began rolling out late last week.

The report also indicates that the first app to unlock this untapped potential is Terminator Genisys: Revolution, published by Glu Mobile. Clicking on the link will let a user pre-register for the app, and then once it becomes available, they’ll get a notification that they can download it. For those that lose their interest in an upcoming app, an option to deregister is also available.

What do you think of the new feature?
