Once upon a time, a company called Yahoo! was relevant. Unfortunately, Google happened. Facebook happened. Twitter happened. Oh sure, a lot of people still visit Yahoo! every day. Those are the people that don’t know how to change their homepage and are using computers running Windows XP. Anyway, Yahoo!’s new CEO is a former Senior Google employee: Marissa Mayer. She wants Yahoo! to focus on design, and so the company released a weather app.

Yes, a weather app.

For a while it was iOS only, but yesterday it came to Android. Is the app worth downloading? Hey, if you need a weather app, knock yourself out. I tried installing it, and it couldn’t find my location. Is it because I live outside of the United States? I don’t know, and I don’t really care since I use a different weather app, one that pulls data from the government funded weather stations sprinkled all over Finland.

Update: I tried installing it again, and sure enough, it works. Here’s what it looks like at the time of this writing. Rain drops. A lot of rain drops. I’m pretty sure my eyes still work, so I can look out my window, and it’s absolutely gorgeous outside, so yeah, not going to use this. Sorry, Yahoo!
