Last week, Google released the Google Play edition of the Z Ultra and the LG G Pad 8.3. The Z Ultra shares the same board and internals as Sony’s second half flagship — the Xperia Z1 — so it was just a matter of time before someone ported the stock GPe ROM to it.
Now, recognised XDA developer — DoomLoRD — has managed to get a partially working port of the ROM up and running on the Z1. While the GPe ROM is pretty stable, it does have a few issues including a broken Wi-Fi and Camera, which can be a deal breaker for many.
The developer has been working on fixing these issues, so it should just be a matter of a few days before a fully working and stable port is available for download.
If you are interested in flashing the ROM, head over to this XDA thread for the download link and flashing instructions. Do keep in mind that you will need an unlocked bootloader to install the ROM though.
