Sony just announced a new phone called the Xperia M. As the headline suggests, it has a 4 inch screen. Said screen pumps out 854 x 480 pixels. As for the rest of the device: There’s a dual core 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 1 GB of RAM, and a 5 megapixel camera.

Where exactly does this thing fit inside Sony’s portfolio? I’d say it’s right under the Xperia L. That phone has a 4.3 inch screen with the same screen resolution. The same processor. And a “better” 8 megapixel camera. Considering that the Xperia L is retailing for 300 EUR here in Finland, I’m incredibly curious to see how Sony decides to price the Xperia M when it comes out this quarter.

Did I forget to mention anything? There will be a dual SIM version, and Android 4.1 is on-board.
