Xiaomi today announced a special edition of the Mi Note with a bamboo made back — the Mi Note Natural Bamboo edition. The bamboo back has been made after going through 19 different procedures that preserves the smoothness of the bamboo.

Xiaomi says that every bamboo edition of the Mi Note comes with a back that has a unique look and feel to it. While the bamboo back adds about 0.9mm of thickness to the device, it makes up for it by reducing the overall weight of the device by 5g.

As for the internal specs, they remain the same as the original Mi Note, and include a Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB RAM, a 5.7-inch 1008p display, 16GB of internal storage, a 13MP rear camera, 4MP front shooter and dual-SIM 4G connectivity.

The device will go on sale from March 24th and will be priced at RMB 2299 (~USD 370). The registration for the sale will start from today itself.
