Besides the Mi 3, Xiaomi also unveiled the Redmi Note and Redmi 1S for the Indian market. Both devices are cheaper and less powerful than the Mi 3 but offer a never seen before value-for-money.
The Redmi Note is a budget oriented phablet with a 5.5-inch 720p display, a MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, 2GB of RAM, 13MP rear-camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, 8GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot and a 3100mAh removable battery.
On the other hand, the Redmi 1S features a 4.7-inch 720p IPS display, a quad-core 1.6GHz Cortex-A7 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 2000mAh battery, an 8MP shooter at the rear and a 1.6MP camera in the front. Both these devices run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with MIUI v5 on top of it.
They will also launch with the usual suite of Google Play apps and services, which their Chinese siblings lack. The Redmi Note and and Redmi 1S will be available exclusively on Flipkart for only Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 6,999 sometime soon.
The company also announced that it plans on launching its Mi Power Bank and other accessories for its devices in India soon.
