At an event in Beijing, China today, Xiaomi unveiled its new handset: the Redmi Note 3. The handset comes with a full metal body and MediaTek’s flagship Helio X10 processor despite being priced very affordably.
At the front, the metal clad Redmi Note 3 houses a 5.5-inch 1080p LCD display that is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass. It also comes with Sunlight display, Night display and Reading mode to adapt the display to different situations. Under the hood, the Note 3 comes with a MediaTek Helio X10 processor, 2/3GB LPDDR3 RAM, and 16/32GB of internal storage.

The Redmi Note 3 comes with a 13MP shooter at its rear with Phase Detection Auto-Focus (PDAF) and dual-LED flash. Right below the camera sensor is a fingerprint sensor that Xiaomi says can identify your finger in less than 0.3 seconds. On the front, there is a 5MP selfie shooter located at the front that comes with 36 smart beauty profiles.
Other notable specs of the handset include 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, dual SIM connectivity, and 4G LTE support. Living up to its phablet status, the Redmi Note 3 comes with a gigantic 4,000mAh battery. For now, the Redmi Note 3 will be available in China for RMB 899 ($140) for the 16GB/2GB RAM variant and RMB 1099 ($170) for the 32GB/3GB RAM variant.
