After the successful launch of the Mi 3, Xiaomi is all set to launch its second handset in India — the Redmi 1S.

Like the Mi 3, the Redmi 1S will be sold exclusively via Flipkart from September 2 with bookings to buy the handset scheduled to start from today (September 26th) at 6PM.

Xiaomi will be hosting a flash sale of a limited units of the Redmi 1S every week, but this time to counter the high demand and to avert the disaster that happened when the Mi 3 initially went on sale, it will be offering a larger number of units for sale.

The full specs of the Redmi 1S are as follows:

4.7-inch 720p display
1.6Ghz Quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor
1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage
microSD card slot
5MP rear camera, 1.6MP front-facing camera
Dual-SIM connectivity

The Redmi 1S will retail for Rs. 5,999, which is Rs. 1000 lower than what Xiaomi had announced when it had initially unveiled the handset in June.
