Hugo Barra, the VP of International at Xiaomi, today announced on Twitter that Xiaomi will be a part of the Google I/O. The teaser image posted along with his tweet indicates that the Chinese company is working with Google on a new Android TV related device.
Xiaomi is primarily known for its smartphones that are only available for purchase in China and India. However, the company also makes TVs, which are sold only in China. These TVs run on Xiaomi’s own operating system and provide access to a plethora of content through which the Chinese company makes money.

It is also possible that Xiaomi will end up unveiling a new Android TV running set-top box in partnership with Google. Whatever the case might be, it sure will be interesting to see what Xiaomi has managed to cook up in association with Google.
If both companies manage to get Android TV up and running on Xiaomi’s Mi TV, it will provide a significant boost to the OS on TV, which until now has struggled to gain a foothold in the market. And this is despite numerous efforts from Google.
What do you think Xiaomi and Google will announce at Google I/O this year?
