After months of testing and releasing unofficial builds, the CyanogenMod team today has finally released the official CM12.1 nightly builds for two popular devices from Xiaomi: the Mi 3 and the Mi 4.

CyanogenMod 12.1 is based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and comes with a number of enhancements and features that further improve the experience of using the OS.

Since official builds of the ROM for the Mi 3 and Mi 4 have just been released, there are bound to be plagued with some bugs and performance issues. Initial report from early adopters indicate that the ROM currently does not support LTE on the WCDMA variant of the Mi 4 and is known to reboot randomly sometimes. Overtime though, it is likely that these issues will be sorted out.

Both, the Mi 3 and the Mi 4, are running on KitKat build of MIUI 6. While Xiaomi will be updating these devices to MIUI 7, it is unclear if the base OS will be upgraded to Lollipop or not. So, if you want to get a taste of Lollipop on your Mi 3/4, make sure to try out the latest CyanogenMod 12.1 nightly for the devices.
