Xiaomi today unveiled the Mi Mix 3, its latest phablet featuring a massive 6.9-inch 18:9 display. The FHD+ resolution screen is protected by 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass with 1500:1 contrast ratio and 84 percent NTSC color gamut.

The massive display is accompanied by an equally huge 5,500mAh battery. There’s also Quick Charge 3.0 support which means the handset should charge itself from 0-100 percent in relatively quick time.

Other specs of the Mi Max 3 remain the same as Xiaomi’s excellent Redmi Note 5 Pro. This means we are looking at a Snapdragon 636 chipset running at 1.8GHz, an Adreno 509 GPU, 4/6GB LPDDR4X RAM, 64/128GB of storage space, and a microSD card slot.

As for the camera, we see a dual-camera setup similar to that of the Redmi Note 5 Pro. This means there’s a primary 12MP shooter with a f/1.9 aperture, large 1.4um pixels, dual PD focus, and LED flash. This is accompanied by a 5MP secondary depth sensor. At the front, there’s an 8MP selfie shooter with LED flash and f/2.0 aperture.

Other specs of the Max 3 include a USB-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, hybrid dual-SIM connectivity, dual VoLTE, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5, GPS, IR blaster, fingerprint sensor, face unlock, and dual stereo speakers. The 221gms heavy handset is 7.9mm thick, and it will be available in Meteorite Black, Dream Gold, and Dark Blue colors. The handset runs on MIUI based on Android 8.1 Oreo with plenty of AI features like an AI Voice Assistant, AI Camera app, and others thrown in.

The Mi Max 3 goes on sale in China from July 20th. The base variant is priced at CNY 1699, while the 6GB RAM variant is priced at CNY 1999.
