Along with the Mi 4, Xiaomi also unveiled a tracking band — the Mi Band — at a ridiculously low price of $13. The company’s first wearable can monitor your fitness and track your sleep levels, and can also act as an alarm.

It lacks any kind of screen though and only has 3 LEDs on its surface to indicate users of any new notifications on their smartphone.

The band sports an impressively long battery life of 30 days along with an IP67 rating, which makes it water and dust resistant to a certain extent. A nifty feature of the Mi Band is that it can automatically unlock your Xiaomi device, if they are in close proximity.

Xiaomi also plans on adding more functionality to Mi Band down the line including the ability to switch on or off your smart devices via it.

The Mi Band is similar to Sony’s SWR10 Smart Band, which retails for $100 and is only compatible with selected devices from Sony. Sadly, Xiaomi did not announce any specific release date for the Mi Band.

At $13 (CNY79), the Mi Band almost falls into the impulse buy territory, though the lack of a release date and limited availability are a bummer.
