After a month long delay, Xiaomi today announced the Mi Band 2, its newest and greatest fitness and sleep tracker. Compared to previous Mi Bands, the latest Mi Band 2 comes with a 0.4-inch OLED display that displays the time, steps, and your heart rate.

One end of the OLED display sports an anodised aluminium button that can be used to switch between the various viewing modes. The heart rate scanner resides below the module.

For better accuracy, the Mi Band 2 features a new ADI accelerometer and an updated Pedometer algorithm. While the previous Mi Bands were made of plastic, Xiaomi has gone for military-grade materials with the Mi Band 2 to make the module less prone to scratches and fingerprints.

For improved connectivity, the Mi Band 2 comes with Bluetooth 4.0 LE that also uses less power.

Despite the increased in functionality and an OLED screen, Xiaomi claims the Mi Band 2 will last for over 20 days on a single charge on standby. The wearable also comes with an IP67 rating that makes it dust and water-resistant.

The Mi Band 2 module itself will be available in black color, with the band being available in various colors, including blue, green, black, orange and blue. The wearable will be available for 149 yuan ($22) and goes on sale in China from June 7th through Mi.com.
