To celebrate the sales of the Mi 4 breaching the 10 million mark worldwide, Xiaomi today announced that it has reduced the price of the handset in India by Rs. 5000.
The 16GB Mi 4 is sold in India for Rs. 19,999, but starting from today, the handset will be available for purchase for only Rs. 14,999. The 64GB variant of the handset, which retails for Rs. 21,999, has not received any such price cut.
Despite being more than a year old, the Xiaomi Mi 4 is a great handset that still packs in respectable internals, which includes a Snapdragon 801 processor, a 5-inch full HD (1080p) display, 3GB RAM, a 13MP rear shooter, 8MP selfie camera and a 3000mAh battery.
Flipkart is also offering an additional Rs. 5,000 discount for trading in a working handset for the Mi 4.
At this price, the Xiaomi Mi 4 makes for a very tempting handset. The 16GB internal memory might be a bummer for many, but if you can live with it, the handset is almost a no brainer for anyone looking to buy a new budget smartphone.
