The Xiaomi Max, which was named through a survey, has had its first images leaked. The images first appeared on the Chinese microblogging site Baidu, and only show the front panel of the phone; and it is one big panel!
As it is with most early leaks, there could be little credibility to the images. However, the images do appear to have been taken at an assembly line as can be seen by the gloved hand. The captive buttons on the screen also appear to be distinctively Xiaomi.
Rumour has it that the Xiaomi Max is to be launched with a 6.4 inch QHD screen and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. However, little else is known or speculated as of yet. Since the leaked images show a capacitive home button in the front, it is likely that the fingerprint scanner on the handset will be located at the rear. The side bezel also appears to be extremely thin.
It is speculated that Xiaomi may launch the Max in May. As always, we will let you know if we get any news or updates about Xiaomi’s rumoured phablet.
What do you think of the large screen size of the Max? Would it be a phone you look forward to? Let us know in the comments.
