Redmi 4 China

Xiaomi today announced its latest Redmi handset in China, the Redmi 4. The latest budget wonder from Xiaomi will be available in two different variants, with different specifications. Like the Redmi 3S before it, the Redmi 4 features a unibody aluminium finish that has been further improved on the handset.

The standard Redmi 4 variant comes with a 5-inch 720p display that is protected by a curved 2.5D glass. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 chipset and sports 2GB RAM along with 16GB of internal storage. The ‘Pro’ variant features a Full HD 5-inch display and is powered by a more powerful Snapdragon 625 chipset. It also features 32GB of storage and 3GB RAM.

Besides the difference in their chipset and display resolution, the phones feature the same set of specifications. This includes a 13MP rear shooter with PDAF aided by a two-tone dual-LED flash, a 5MP selfie shooter, a fingerprint scanner located at the rear, hybrid dual SIM slot, and a gigantic 4100mAh battery.

Both phones run on MIUI 8 that is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. They also feature 4G LTE connectivity, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and Wi-Fi b/g/n. The Redmi 4 will be available in Silver, Grey, and Gold colors. The base variant is priced at 699 yuan ($105), while the Pro variant is priced at 899 yuan ($135). The handset will go on sale in China from November 11th.

While it is unlikely that we will see Xiaomi launch the Redmi 4 in other markets of the world, the handset should make its debut in the Indian smartphone market in a few weeks from now.
