Last year, Xiaomi entered the Indian market with a bang by releasing the its 2013 flagship — the Mi 3 — at an extremely tempting price. The Chinese company followed it up with the release of other low-end handsets, including the Redmi 1S and the Redmi Note.
Within five months since its launch in India, Xiaomi has managed to ship more than a million handsets in the country with the country becoming one of its key and the fastest growing markets. The company has now revealed that it will be bringing its 2014 flagship — the Mi 4 — to India “in the next few weeks.” By bringing a year old flagship to India now, Xiaomi will be able to offer users the handset at a very attractive price.
That’s not to say the Mi 4 is a bad handset. It packs in respectable specs, which includes a 5-inch Full HD IPS screen, a Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, 3GB RAM, 16/64GB of storage space, a 13MP rear camera and a 3080mAh battery. Looking at how Xiaomi have priced its previous handsets in India, the company should price the Mi4 anywhere between the Rs. 14000-18000 mark, which should make it a hot seller like the previous offerings from the company.
Xiaomi is also scheduled to unveil its 2015 flagship — the Mi 5 — sometime later this month. The company had already unveiled the successor to its popular Redmi 1S — Redmi 2 — earlier this month.
