While the Pixel 3 looks the same as the Pixel 2 from behind, Google has a new trick up its sleeve. The Pixel 3 now has an all-glass back. The two-tone color effect is achieved by a new matte coating over the glass. The two phones now come in three different color options, cheekily named Clearly White, Just Black and Not Pink. The two old white and black versions are mostly the same, with some tweaked accent colors. The new Pink version can easily pass as a sand color.
If you’re planning to buy the new Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL, you must be wondering, which color should you choose? We’re here to help you out.
1. Just Black
The Pixel 3 might look like Pixel 2 from behind but actually, it’s a whole new design with an entire glass back. But the two-tone styling remains. The bottom part has a matte finish which makes it easier to hold and helps you avoid fingerprints.
If you don’t care about styling or accessorizing and you just want an understated look, go with the Just Black option. The bottom matte coating has a night roughness to it, which makes it easy to hold. The glossy part at the top is quite reflective and a fingerprint magnet, but thankfully, Google has further reduced the glossy area this time.
The front of the Just Black variant is black as well. So if you’re looking for an all-black, classy look, this is the color for you. And when I say all-black, I mean it. There is no accent color for the power button in the Just Black variant.
2. Clearly White
If you like a bit of fun or whimsy when it comes to your smartphone’s styling, go with Cearly white. The front is black, and the back is white. And yes, it’s closer to white than silver, which makes it stand out in the crowd. But this time, the glossy cut out at the top isn’t black. And the accent color is green. To our eyes, Clearly White looks pretty cool.
3. Not Pink
Not Pink is like the Blue color option in the previous Pixel models. It’s the special color, meant for small quantities. Google is only shipping this color in the 64GB capacity version. Talking about the color itself, it lies somewhere in the middle of the Pink and Sand spectrum. The Sandish-pink color covers the entire glass back. The front bezels are all black. The power button has an orange accent.
If you want to stand out from the crowd, Not Pink is the version you should get.
Which Color Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL Are You Buying?
The color is the most subjective part of buying a new phone. Which color speaks to you the most? We’d say, be adventurous and go with Clearly White or Not Pink. Even if you don’t like the color later, you can put up a skin or a case.
