Earlier today, Google started rolling out the Android 6.0.1 update for Nexus devices. Despite being a minor release, Android 6.0.1 brings with it quite a lot of changes, new features and some underlying system tweaks.

Below, I have listed all the changes that Google has made in Android 6.0.1 and have been discovered so far:

• As promised by Lockheimer, the Android 6.0.1 update introduces a lot of new emojis and also redesigns some existing ones. A small gallery of some of the new emojis can be found below.

• The ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode in Marshmallow now has an ‘Until next alarm’ option that will automatically turn off priority or silent mode after the next alarm rings on your phone.

• The double tap power button to open camera app shortcut as seen on the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X is now also available on older Nexus devices.

• The update adds Band 12 support on T-Mobile’s network for the Nexus 6P. This should lead to better and faster LTE network speeds for T-Mobile customers.

• A bug that led to colors being washed out in Android 6.0 on certain Nexus devices while watching videos has been fixed in this update.

• Android 6.0.1 also comes with December’s security patches from Google. It includes patches for 16 different CVEs.

As of now, these are the only changes that have been discovered in Android 6.0.1. As and when we come across any new changes that Google has made in Android 6.0.1, we will update this post.
