Samsung held its big CES 2014 press event on the first full day of CES announcements. As part of its presentation, the South Korean manufacturer unveiled new tablets, new smart home products and new curved glass televisions. Though the tablets are of interest to Android owners, it’s Samsung’s TV announcement that will remain the talk of the town. Not because of their cutting-edge technology, but because of the behavior of director Michael Bay. (simpleeverydaymom.com) Samsung presumably hired Michael Bay to speak about the company’s new curved glass TV models and how the technology will impact the entertainment industry. Instead of waxing philosophically about the new technology, Bay was thrown off guard and left speechless when the teleprompter malfunctioned. Rather than trudge through his discourse, Bay dropped the mic and walked offstage, leaving the Samsung executive awkwardly alone on the stage. Bay did apologize for the spectacle on his blog, so there’s that.
