The Vivo V15/Pro also comes with plenty of other features. If you are using a Vivo handset for the first time, make sure to go through our detailed tips and tricks for the Vivo V15 Pro.

Vivo V15 Pro: How to Lock Apps with Fingerprint Scanner and Face Unlock

Before you go ahead and jump into App Lock Settings, make sure to enroll your fingerprints and set up face unlock. To do so, go into Settings > Fingerprint, face, and password. Both face unlock and fingerprint scanner allows one to unlock locked apps, and hence its best to set them up first. Also, you should set up a PIN or pattern lock for your phone.

Note: If you do not go through the above steps, you will be prompted to set them up while setting up App Lock.

Step 1: In the app drawer, search for iManager App. Open it and click on App Encryption.

Step 2: When App Encryption launches, it will prompt to set up a six-digit password. Make sure to enter a pin that you can remember.

Step 3: The next screen will show a list of apps installed on your device that can be locked. Toggle on the one you want to lock/unlock with your fingerprint and face unlock.

Step 4: On top of the screen, you have three options. First allows you to disable privacy password, and second lets you change password. The third and the last option–App Lock Time–lets you configure time out for App Lock.  You can choose between

  • After the screen is locked
  • After the screen is locked or the app is closed.
  • One minute after the screen is locked or the app is closed.

Step 4: To use face unlock and fingerprint unlock for App Lock, head over to Settings -> Fingerprint, face, and password. Toggle on Privacy and App encryption options for both Face and Fingerprint.

If you did not setup fingerprint and face data earlier, you will be prompted to set it up now.

Enable App Unlock for Face and Fingerprint

Once the setup is complete, launch the apps you decided to lock. As soon as the app opens, you will be prompted to enter the password/pattern to unlock it.  If you have configured face unlock with app lock, you should see a prompt “identifying face.” If your face is successfully recognized, the app will be automatically unlocked.

Do note that after you unlock an app, it will continue to remain unlocked as per the configuration in step 3. To hide the content of these apps from recent apps view, follow these steps

  • Go to Settings > More settings > Recent Apps
  • Toggle on Blur display and Blur the display of private content

Then toggle on the apps you want to lock. Do note that even if you do not lock the apps, you can still hide their content from Recent apps view using this option.
