Chances are you haven’t heard of “Vine”. It’s a video sharing service that piggybacks on Twitter, with the catch that each video can be a maximum of six seconds long. I say you haven’t heard of it because there’s an iOS version of Vine, but an Android client has yet to be made available.

When will that change? According to The Verge, who sat down and interviewed the creators of the service, the answer is “soon”. That’s it. They didn’t mention a specific month, or quarter, just “soon”.

Why don’t you just use YouTube? Maybe Twitter is trying to have their own thing, kind of like how Vimeo is for serious people to share their serious videos, whereas YouTube is for cats. I’ve never really understood why one would want to share videos, but maybe I will once I can start Vine-ing from my Note II.
