Recently, Google rolled out an update for the Google Search app that bought support for Cricket scores in Google Now. Up until now, Google Now has only supported NCAA and football scores — sports which are mainly prevalent in the United States and surrounding regions. This is the first time that Google has added support for a major sport in Now that is widely popular in Asia.

Cricket scores will automatically show up for you in Google Now if you had ever done a Google Search for that specific team. If not, you can always manually specify your favorite teams whose scores you want to be displayed in Google Now by following the steps below:

Step 1: Open Google Now and scroll to the absolute bottom so that the bottom action bar pops up.

Step 2: Tap the middle “magic wand” icon on the action bar, which will allow you to customise certain aspects of Google Now.

Step 3: Click on “Sports teams” and select Add a team option. You can now enter the name of the cricket team whose scores you want to be notified about.

Keep in mind that Google Now supports the national team as well as all the teams from the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Cricket cards will duly notify you of any new match of your favorite team a few hours before the match starts and also provide you with score updates during the match.
