Verizon today announced through Twitter that it will start supporting Samsung Pay through a future software update on the Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy Note 5, and Galaxy S6 edge+.
Samsung rolled out Samsung Pay in the United States late last month. The payment service from the Korean company works on all its flagship devices released this year on T-Mobile, Sprint, and AT&T. For now, the payment service only cards from MasterCard, Visa, and American Express.

Unlike Apple Pay and Android Pay, Samsung Pay works seamlessly with payment terminals that do not support NFC, which gives it a key advantage over its competition. However, the limited support from banks in the United States has greatly limited its reach.
Verizon was initially a member of SoftCard, a NFC based payment service founded by all the carriers in the United States. The payment service was a huge failure, and was eventually sold to Google in March this year.
