Owners of the Sony Xperia Z2 are now facing issues pertaining to CPU overheating while recording 4K videos on the device. Being one of the few devices that can record videos in 4K resolution, you can imagine how this is quite a hindrance. Other users are complaining of some design related issues that reveal a minor opening near the edges of the display, which could make the device prone to water damage.

Both issues have now been acknowledged by Sony which has promised to have a look into them immediately. The company is urging users to not record 4K videos for prolonged intervals and only capture them in short bursts, while people complaining of having defective units of the smartphone are requested to head over to the nearest Sony outlet to check if the water resistance of the device has been compromised in any way.

These issues were first surfaced in Singapore where the smartphone has been available for a week. It is said that the overheating issue has caused Sony to delay the launch of the handset until June in some regions. But that’s clearly not having any impact on the heating issues of the smartphone.
