Frustrated with Gmail for Android messing up with the formatting of an email you just received? Small text, images are not aligned properly, and links too small to tap? Google is finally fixing this issue as it Gmail and Inbox by Gmail both will now support emails with a responsive design.

This means that emails formatted for desktops and other large screen devices will show up properly on Gmail for Android as well. The content in the email will automatically scale to make it easier to read, with links and other appropriate images also being resized accordingly. The improvements will benefit desktop users as well since emails formatted for mobile will adapt to fit larger screens automatically.

The changes will start rolling out to Gmail and Inbox by Gmail from later this month. And if you are an email designer, Google recommends you to check out this post on their Google Apps Developer blog for all the nitty-gritty details.
