Sony has opened up the floodgates for the masses that want to get their hands on an unlocked variant of their flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z3.

Officially made available for purchase through its U.S. online store on Wednesday, November 5, the Sony-branded unlocked variant of the Xperia Z3 is now available for purchase. The price tag is quite high, but considering the high-end specifications jam packed into the thin frame of the Z3, that shouldn’t come as any surprise.

As far as features go, the Xperia Z3 boasts a 5.2-inch 1920×1080 TRILUMINOS display, with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor under the hood clocked at 2.5GHz. There is a 20.7-megapixel camera on the back, and a 2.2MP front-facing shooter on the other side. It comes with 16GB of built-in storage and 3GB of RAM, with a 3100mAh battery for good measure. The device supports a microSD card, 4G LTE, and it’s IP65 and IP68 rated for dust and water resistant bullet points.

It’s running Android 4.4 KitKat right out of the box. This unlocked variant of the Xperia Z3 will also play nicely with both AT&T’s and T-Mobile’s network, but you won’t get any service with Sprint or Verizon, so keep that in mind.

Sony has the Xperia Z3 unlocked priced at $679.99, and it comes in white, silver green, copper and black. You can find the device ready for purchase through the source link below. If the unlocked variant isn’t to your liking, both Verizon and T-Mobile have their own Z3 options up for grabs.
