It’s pretty common knowledge that whenever Samsung announces a new device, it comes in two versions. One version has a Qualcomm chip, the other has a Samsung chip. Why two versions? Because American operators like Qualcomm’s 4G LTE radio. It’s familiar to them. They know how to optimize their networks to best work with that modem. Meanwhile, the rest of the world usually gets their Samsung phones with Samsung chips inside.

But not anymore.

According to a Samsung statement that was given to Android Central, the UK GS4 will use a 1.9 GHz quad core processor. Connect the dots and that means it’ll use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600. The next obvious question is which countries are going to get the eight core Exynos 5 powered Samsung Galaxy S4?

And before you guys start bickering about which version of the GS4 is better, note that the device hasn’t even started shipping yet, so it’s impossible to pass any judgment without exhaustive testing.
