Twitter announced a brand spanking new Android client last week that I didn’t cover on the site because frankly I wanted to use the app before passing judgement. When it launched, the outpour of hate was frankly a bit ridiculous. I’ve been using the app for almost a week now, and while I can’t say it’s my favorite Twitter client, it’s definitely more than acceptable for normal Twitter users. I’d go so far to say as it’s a huge improvement from previous versions of the official Twitter client.
Which Twitter app should you use? I’m a huge fan of Falcon Pro, but it’s not free. Some of you are painfully averse to spending any money on applications, so you’ll never get to experience it. And please, don’t pirate it either. That’ll just makes you look like a scum ball in my eyes.
But back to the topic at hand: Twitter’s new app had a huge issue where it wouldn’t load the ‘Me’ tab. You need that tab if you want to have a DM conversation with someone. And you need that tab to access the app’s settings. So it was a pretty big deal that it shipped broken. You could always fix it by force quitting the app and then restarting it, but that was a pain in the ass.
I’m happy to report that the issue has now been resolved.
