BlinkFeed plays a very pivotal role in HTC’s Sense UI ever since it was introduced by the Taiwanese OEM last year. While it was written off initially, HTC has improved the service by leaps and bounds with time and constant updates, which had led to the likes of Samsung and Sony including something similar on their devices.
BlinkFeed might not suit everyone tastes so HTC has included an option to turn it off as well. The feature was initially missing on Sense 5, but was subsequently added with the Sense 5.5 update and is present on the One M8 running Sense 6.0 as well.
Turning off BlinkFeed is as simple as removing its homescreen panel. Simply pinch on an empty area in your homescreen and then drag ‘n’ drop the BlinkFeed panel to the Remove icon on the top right.
To add it back, simply pinch again on your homescreen and tap the + symbol on the left most side of the screen. The BlinkFeed homescreen panel will always reside on the leftmost side and there is no way to customize it.
The above steps will work not just on the HTC One M8 but all other Sense 6.0 running devices including the HTC One M7, Desire 816 and the One mini 2.
