Right now, Google is on stage announcing new things. That includes not only the new Nexus 5X from LG, but also the new Nexus 6P from Huawei. So with new Android devices just announced, what better time to announce how many active devices there are in the world?

Google’s new CEO, Sundar Pichai, confirmed on stage that there are currently 1.4 million active Android devices across the globe. According to Pichai, those numbers were confirmed and recorded just in the last 30 days. On top of that, Android’s presence in some markets is starting to increase quite a bit, including in Vietnam and India where Android devices have doubled. And since Android One launched in Turkey recently, that device has become the most popular Android-based device in the region.

If that’s not enough, Pichai also announced that Google Play has just crossed its 1 billion active user milestone, another recording in the last 30 days.
