At the beginning of June, Motorola confirmed that the update to Android 5.1.1 for its Android Wear-based smartwatch, the Moto 360, had been delayed.
The reason for the delay were overall performance issues that the company found after the wearable had been updated to the latest version of Android. So, instead of make Moto 360 owners suffer with less-than-stellar performance, Motorola held off on the update.
Now, though, the software kinks must have been ironed out, as Android 5.1.1 is now officially rolling out to the Moto 360.
It’s being sent out as an over the air (OTA) update beginning today, and as such many users will probably get it right off the bat, while others will have to wait. These updates happen in phases, so if you own a Moto 360, keep an eye out for the latest software to land on your device.
