The Samsung Galaxy S5 is scheduled to go on sale in a majority of regions across the world from April 11th but that has not stopped a Russian website — Ferra.ru — from tearing the handset apart and exposing its internals.

The teardown does not reveal any surprises except that the S5 is tougher to rip apart and repair than its predecessors. This is mainly due to the fact that the S5 is an IP67 (Dust and Water resistant) handset, which means that Samsung needs to make sure that all the parts are properly sealed.

The display was the biggest roadblock in the teardown and was held together in its place not by screws or tapes, but with a very strong adhesive that required substantial prying and even an heat gun to soften it up.

The other interesting tidbit from the teardown? The S5 battery size is now similar to what Apple uses in the iPhone — like an “I”.
