One of the unique features LG introduced in its LG G2 device is the presence of the volume and power buttons on the back of the device. And it looks like LG will be keeping this trend on its devices including the newly announced G Pro 2 that we will be seeing at Mobile World Congress next week.

This trend has been polarizing among technology users, with many saying it doesn’t make any sense and they would never buy a device with this design. Personally, I have an LG G2 and I love the button placement on the back of the phone. Even though it sounded like manufactured PR at the time of the phone’s announcement, I found that it took me less than a couple of minutes to get used to the new position of the buttons when I first started using it. That’s not to mention that volume control is a lot easier when on a call, the design change allows for smaller and slimmer side bezels, and it adds a differentiating aspect to the device’s look.

And I am not the only anyone to think that. Phone Arena conducted a survey with their readers asking them whether they minded or not LG’s trend of placing the buttons on the back of the phone. Out of more than 1400 readers who answered the survey, more than 70% said that they’re actually OK with this design choice. Granted this isn’t a large sample, but it does tell us that a good proportion of users doesn’t think that it is such a bad idea after all.

Lesson of the day: don’t dismiss anything as weird, annoying or unbearable before you try it.
