A whole bunch of Samsung devices were leaked while I asleep last night. Let’s start with the one that’s nearest and dearest to my heart, the Galaxy Note III. According to TechTastic and SamMobile, what you’re looking at above is a prototype of Samsung’s next generation Note. They say it has a 5.99 inch display, which I’m having a hard time believing. Earlier rumors said it would be 5.9 inches, something that makes a lot more sense. Going straight to 6.0 inches (for all intents and purposes) would be just too much for most people, myself included.
Next up is the Galaxy Ace III. You probably don’t care about the Ace, but lots of people who can’t afford a 650 EUR phone do. The Ace has traditionally been Samsung’s premier sub 300 EUR phone. Trouble is, that space is currently now occupied by the Galaxy S3 mini and Galaxy S II Plus, so I’m having a hard time understanding where this new Ace will fit in Samsung’s portfolio. If they price it at 200 EUR, then it would be nuts, but I don’t think they will.
And finally, there’s the “SHV-E330S” (no pictures, sorry), which is a Korean bound Galaxy S4 that packs a punch. Gone is the Snapdragon 600, it’ll be replaced with Qualcomm’s latest and greatest chip, the Snapdragon 800. Now before you get too excited, note that the model number indicates this phone will likely never leave South Korea. Don’t be upset though, because chances are we’ll see a Snapdragon 800 show up in the 2014 Galaxy S5. And if you really want to have a powerful phone, rumors say the Note III will use this particular Snapdragon.
When will we see these three devices? The Note III will be announced at IFA in September, I’m almost 100% sure of that. The Ace III, we might see it at Samsung’s event on June 20th, we might see it before, you never really know. And as for the Snapdragon 800 powered S4, I’m going to assume late Q3 or early Q4, but I’m just pulling those dates out of my ass.
