On February 5, a leaked document claimed to showcase just when Sprint’s HTC One (M8) and LG’s G3 would begin receiving their Android 5.0 Lollipop updates. Those dates were subject to change, according to the document, and in at least one case it has.
As revealed by Sprint on Friday, February 6, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the One (M8) from HTC will begin rolling out today. As usual, though, the rollout for an over the air update can take some time to reach every active device on the network, so if the update doesn’t pop up for you today, stay tuned — the process has at least begun.
After the update is applied, the One (M8)’s version will be bumped up to 4.20.651.10, and it will also remove the Lumen toolbar as well. Of course, with the update to Lollipop there will be plenty of Material Design goodness thrown in, along with new lock screen notifications and more.
If you own a One (M8) for Sprint, keep your eyes open for the newest software and let us know when you receive it!
