While AT&T subscribers with the Galaxy Note 3 are expecting to receive an OTA update of their own, it looks like Sprint subscribers with a Galaxy S5 in their pocket have something to look forward to, too.

Sprint officially made the update to the Galaxy S5 the real deal late Wednesday night, so the over the air update should already be rolling out to subscribers across the United States. However, the update will rollout in stages, as usual, so if the notification for a software download hasn’t pinged your handset just yet, stay tuned, it should happen at any point now.

With the update to Android 4.4.4 KitKat, Sprint is adding international Wi-Fi Calling support, as well as tossing an HD Voice icon for good measure. There are the commonplace bug squashing and performance enhancements, and Sprint notes that there is a security patch from Google included in there as well.

The newest software update brings the version number up to G900PVPU1ANK4. While it is clearly not the biggest update out there, it is at least (potentially) one more step to getting the official update to Android 5.0 Lollipop on the handset at some point in the near future.
