Back at IFA, when Sony unveiled the Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact, it demoed the ability to remotely play PlayStation 4 games on the handset. The company made it clear that the Xperia handsets will not ship with this feature tight out of the box but it will be available to them soon after.

Thankfully, Sony has managed to stick to its words and today it released the PS4 Remote Play app on the Google Play Store. The app will allow Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact and Z3 Tablet Compact users to stream and play games from their PS4 to it using the Dualshock 4 wireless controller.

At the moment, the app only seems to be compatible with the Z3 series of Xperia devices but Sony might expand it to include support for the Xperia Z2 and other Xperias as well.
