Rumors have indicated that Sony is working on the Z1 Compact’s successor, which is slated to be revealed in a couple of months from now at IFA. A leaked picture of the front panel of the handset gave further credence to the rumors of the device existence.
Now, thanks to DooMLoRD, the final specs of the handset has leaked as well and it looks like the Z3 Compact is going to be perfect for consumers who are looking for a sub-5-inch flagship Android device.
According to DooMLoRD, the Z3 Compact is going to feature a 4.5-inch 720p display and will be powered by a Snapdragon 801 processor. Other specs include 2GB of RAM, an Adreno 330 GPU, a 20.7MP camera on the rear and a 2.1MP shooter in the front.
Most of the specs matches with what the Xperia Z1 Compact sports, but if Sony sticks to its mantra of “details make the difference”, it should very well have a winner on its hands.
Considering that all the Android flagship phones released this year had a 5-inch or greater screen size, it is refreshing to see an OEM actually release a sub-5-inch device while still retaining high-end specs.
