Sony’s Xperia Z3 has seen plenty of attention before its official announcement, which is expected at this year’s IFA convention at the start of September. Sony has even teased the new device on their own. And while we’ve already reportedly seen the internals of the upcoming flagship device, where the device will launch, how much it will cost, and what exactly it will feature are still up in the air. A new report may have cleared things up when it comes to where it will launch, at least.
According to individual reports from Reuters and The Wall Street Journal, Sony is gearing up to launch their next flagship Xperia-branded smartphone in the United States, and it looks like T-Mobile might not be the carrier of choice this time around. According to the reports, it looks like Sprint is on tap to carry the flagship handset.
The deal will reportedly mean that the carrier SoftBank will launch the handset in Japan, and due to SoftBank owning Sprint in the United States, the flagship will make it over the ocean and to the States via this connection.
To be clear, the reports don’t specifically mention that the Xperia Z3 is the device in question here, but considering that the Xperia Z3 is the only device on tap that could come close to owning that “flagship” title, it’s a safe bet that this is the device being reported on.
Do you plan on picking up the Xperia Z3 when it becomes available?
