Sony officially announced the mid-range device, the Xperia T3, at the beginning of June, but managed to leave out some key information. Now, if you live in Hong Kong, some very important information has finally been revealed if you’ve been eagerly anticipating getting your hands on this particular handset.
Officially unveiled on their Facebook page, Sony has confirmed that their Xperia T3 handset will launch in Hong Kong beginning July 14. With it, customers will get the familiar mid-range device we all saw announced in June. That means you’ll get a smartphone with a 5.3-inch 720p HD Triluminos display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, clocked at 1.4GHz. There is 8GB of built-in storage and 1GB of RAM. On the back, an 8-megapixel camera, while a 1.1MP camera will handle the selfies. The battery is measured at 2500mAh, and the Xperia T3 is running Android 4.4 KitKat right out of the box under Sony’s proprietary Xperia UI.
Sony says that the Xperia T3 is the thinnest 5.3-inch smartphone on the planet, coming in at a slender 7mm. Unlike other Sony-branded handsets, the Xperia T3 doesn’t come with any kind of IP certification, so don’t expect the handset to be dust or water resistant.
As far as pricing goes, Sony confirmed it will cost HK $2,998, or about $385. It will be available July 14, and will come in the white, purple or black color options. Sony has yet to provide any details when it comes to a wider launch.
