Sony today sent out invitations for an event in on October 9 to be held in the New York. The accompanying teaser image from Sony carries the tagline ‘Demand Great’ — which suggests that the Japanese giant is planning on releasing its latest flagships — the Xperia Z3 and the Z3 Compact — across the shore.
Sony has traditionally stayed away from the U.S market and released its flagship devices months after their initial launch in the country. However, it looks like the company is making an exception for its latest Xperia(s), and rightfully so, since they are easily among the top Android smartphones released this year with a battery that can easily last 2 days of moderate usage.
T-Mobile has already confirmed that it will be carrying the Xperia Z3, though the handset it still a few weeks away from launching on the Magenta carrier. It will, however, not be carrying the Z3 Compact, which has also managed to attract the interest of many consumers this time around.
It is very likely that we will see Sony announce the Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact going on sale on its U.S web store along with a concrete release date for T-Mobile variant of the Z3 at its event on October 9th.
