Samsung may be a vertically integrated company that makes many of the components that go in their devices, but Sony has something very few handset makers have: content. Between Sony Music, Sony Movies, and the PlayStation brand, Sony is in a position to give their customers more entertainment than they know what to do with, and that’s exactly what they’ve just done for people who own either the Xperia Z1, Z1 Ultra, or Tablet Z.
If you’ve purchased one (or more!) of those devices, then go ahead and visit the Google Play Store and download the “Xperia Privilege” app. It should already be on your phone or tablet, but maybe you accidentally deleted it since you though it was bloatware. Once you’ve opened the app, you’ll be able to get two free months of unlimited streaming from Sony Music, five free movies, one of which is Elysium, and ten free games that Sony has hand picked themselves.
Will this promotion get people to buy Sony’s devices? I highly doubt it, but I do hope I’m wrong since I’d like to see Sony prosper. We need a company to stand up to Samsung, and I personally don’t think LG is competent enough to be that company. Sony on the other hand, they were once a giant, and if they play their cards right, they can return to their pedestal.
