Skype for Android

Skype for Android was last updated on Android 18, and with it, bumped the version to 5.10. It also brought with it new ways for users to “express yourself.”

Part of that is customizable ringtones. With Skype 5.10, users can choose a specific ringtone for individual contacts, with the sounds available on their device. You’ll have to get into a conversation with the contact to change the ringtone, as the option is available on the bottom-right within the conversation window, and then select “Ringtone options” followed by “Set custom ringtone.”

The update also includes the ability for users to forward photos from one conversation to another, just by tapping-and-holding the image and selecting “Forward photo.” The update also includes changes to the colors of avatars within group conversations, which Microsoft says should help make it more obvious who is talking.

We’ve also included a number of fixes and additional improvements, including changing the colors of avatars for group chats so you can easily tell one conversation from another.

The update is available now, and a link to Skype, which is a free download, is available below for those that don’t already have it installed.
