Xposed framework, when combined with some excellent modules from the Android development community, completely eradicates the need for flashing any custom ROMs. Case in point being the Gravity Toolbox Xposed module for Nexus devices and other AOSP ROMs, which brings nearly all the features usually present in a custom ROM without the hassle of flashing one.
Similarly, XDA member langer hans Sense 6 Toolbox Xposed module brings all the customization options found in Sense based custom ROMs to the HTC One.
The toolbox contains a wide variety of mods that will allow One users to customize nearly every aspect of Sense and their device. The customizations are not limited only to the interface though, and extend even to the hardware level by providing features like Volume wake, the ability to bind actions to volume keys and more.
Below is a small list of all the features offered by the Sense 6 Toolbox:
Interface mods
-
Transparent statusbar and notification drawer
-
Center clock, AM/PM removal, traffic meter, horizontal EQS
-
Gestures to manipulate recent apps and additional information about each app, AOSP styled recents
-
[Sense 6] Custom color themes for every app
Statusbar mods
-
Icons by vomer (CleanBeam)
-
Customizable color themes for all new statusbar icons
-
Ability to hide icons
Sense mods
-
Transparency for many UI elements (dock, clock widget, app drawer, folders, etc)
-
Infinite apps in folders, 7 home screens, home popup menu, more grid options for homescreens and app drawer
-
Actions for vertical swipes and shaking on homescreens, horizontal swipes on dock
The Xposed module is compatible with the HTC One M7 as well as the M8 and works without any issues on the stock ROM. Compatibility with other HTC devices running Sense 6.0 like the HTC One Mini 2 is dubious though.
