Samsung Project Moonligh

Since June, there have been signs of a new market that Samsung could be considering jumping into, this time with virtual reality the intended target. Now, according to a report published by The Verge, the headset has been caught in the wild.

The device, which is said to have a codename of Project Moonglith, looks slightly different than what we saw in early July. According to the report, the Galaxy Note 4 is not going to be the only device presented on stage on September 3.

The device will will apparently feature two lenses, and as previously reported, use a smartphone display to draw the user into the virtual world. There will also be a focus dial, and a microUSB port that will connect the headset to the smartphone (which will probably be directly linked to the Galaxy Note 4 in some way or another).

At the end of July, we saw a leak of the Samsung Gear VR Manager app, which showcased plenty of the features tied to the app, as well as some other key details. It’s been said that Samsung is working with Oculus on the headset proper. There’s no word as of now how much it will cost, or what exactly Samsung is looking to do with it, but if it is going to be unveiled in early September, we’ll know soon enough.
