Now that Samsung has officially recalled the Galaxy Note 7 for the last time, ended sales, and discontinued the phone, the only thing left to do at this point is to return the device.
For the folks that can only return their handset by mail, Samsung has, what some might call, an elaborate return packaging setup. It was first revealed on the XDA forums, and Samsung appears to be taking no chances when it comes to returning the potentially combustible device.
What it includes: an anti-static bag for the phone itself, and a cardboard box to put the phone in. And then you put the phone, in the anti-static bag, inside the cardboard box, into another cardboard box. Once those are set, you put the two cardboard boxes, the anti-static bag, and the Galaxy Note 7 into the final bit of packaging, which includes insulation with ceramic fiber.
The ceramic fiber can irritate the skin of people trying to put all of that together, though, so Samsung also includes a pair of latex gloves for good measure.
Samsung’s return packaging is serious business, and it only enforces the fact that the Galaxy Note 7 is potentially dangerous.
