Samsung hasn’t yet announced the Galaxy A8 just yet, but with it passing through the FCC, it seems it’s only a matter of time.
Until then, though, a new report from SamMobile has shed some light on what to expect when the new smartphone does get unveiled at some point in the near future. That includes a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor under the hood, and 16GB of built-in storage. It will feature 2GB of RAM, a 16MP camera on the back, with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The battery is measured in at 3050mAh, it’s running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box, and it will boast LTE-connectivity.
Another bullet point on the features list is how thin the device will be, coming in at only 5.94mm. That makes the Galaxy A8 the thinnest smartphone from Samsung to date. Compare that to the Galaxy S6’s 6.8mm thickness, and one can see just how thin the Galaxy A8 will be.
As far as a release date goes, it’s anyone’s guess at this point.
