According to a page on Samsung’s Finland website, the Korean giant plans on updating quite a few of its older devices to Android 5.0 Lollipop, including the Galaxy Note 2 and the Galaxy S4.

Samsung has not yet confirmed the list of devices that will be getting the Lollipop update, so this is as good as a confirmation we can get from the company. The list also confirms that the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Note 4 will be receiving the Lollipop update, which was already confirmed by the preview videos of a beta Lollipop firmware running on these devices.

The list reassures that the Galaxy Alpha will also be updated to the latest version of Android. It does not mention anything about the Galaxy S3 getting the update, but considering that selected variants of the handset never received the KitKat update, it is very likely that the device has reached its end of life.

It is very much possible that the list in tentative in nature, and Samsung might change its decision to bring Lollipop to the Galaxy Note 2 down the line. Until the company itself confirms the news of Android 5.0 coming to the Galaxy Note 2, I will suggest our readers not to get their hopes up. The Galaxy S4, on the other hand, should receive the update as it is still a fairly decent handset.
