Samsung is reportedly looking to unveil the Galaxy S10 and its foldable phone on February 20 at an Unpacked event to be held simultaneously in San Francisco and London. If true, this means the company will not be waiting for MWC 2019 to unveil its flagship smartphone for the year. 

Samsung has usually unveiled its flagship Galaxy S handset at MWC. Only on a few rare occasions has the company unveiled the handset at a separate Unpacked event. This time around, the Korean company seems to have decided to unveil the Galaxy S10 ahead of MWC 2019. While Mobile World Congress 2019 is scheduled to take place from February 25-28 in Barcelona, Samsung is planning on unveiling the handset on February 20 itself.

In addition to the Galaxy S10, Samsung will also be unveiling its foldable phone at the event.

An early unveiling date means that the Galaxy S10 series will end up going on sale early as well. Looking at Samsung’s previous track record, it looks like the Galaxy S10 series will end up hitting the retail stores in early March.

Rumors point to Samsung unveiling three different Galaxy S10 variants this year: S10 Lite, S10, and S10+. The ‘lite’ variant will feature a 5.8-inch flat OLED display and lack an in-display fingerprint scanner. It will also only feature a single camera setup at the rear. The Galaxy S10 and S10+ will feature an in-display fingerprint scanner, bigger Infinity-O punch-hole displays along with bigger batteries. The S10+ is also rumored to sport a triple camera setup at its rear.
